The Good Times Keep-uh Rollin'

(A Rocket to the Moon)

We recently had Warped Tour roll its posse of musicians on through Phx, AZ. I have gone the last two years and was determined not to ruin my streek this year. With financial problems and all I wasn't sure if id be making it this year. My boyfriend ended up surprising me with a ticket and we went together with my best friend Chelsea and her sister. I wasn't sure if i should take my SLR camera...i went back and forth contemplating whether it was a good idea or not....i finally settled on taking it. (I also couldnt find my point and shoot camera anyways haha) So i was glad i did. I was able to get some decent shots of a couple bands. It was such a fun day. Met some bands bought some random cds to jam out to in the car =]
(Lights)

Overall i must say it was a good year. I had two goals for this year...one...to meet Lights because i have been following her music since shed posted those first couple of songs and wow'd me with her voice and lyrics =]

&&&

Number two was to meet Paul Griffiths....yes i know people say he just caters to the ever growing army of scene kids...but what good is our generation without their fads?? I admire Paul Griffiths for starting his own clothing line from nothing. I hope to one day establish myself and own a store of my own. I was able to meet Lights after she performed her set and then I had also gotten a picture with Paul Griffiths.

It was a great day of seeing bands, checkin out music, and hangin with some friends in the Hot Arizona Sun =]

SNAP! CRACKLE! POP!

Hola!
So this would be my second photoshoot with Susanna! Shes such a sweetie and soo easy to work with becuase she doesn't mind jumping right into things!
We had wanted to do a really casual and fun shoot at the laundromat. Haha all the people doing their laundry jsut kept staring at us but it made it more fun. While we were waiting for a lady to finish her laundry so we could shoot in that place we played a couple of games of PACMAN soo funn =]]
After that first half we drove around and it was practically sundown by then. I suggested we go shoot at Granada Park. It ended up being a great plan! We shot by the man made lake and the the canal area where the water moves from one lake to the other.
It was crazy because as we had been shooting around there Susanna got stung by a bee on her hand!!! I was freaking because Im obviously not trained in bee sting treatment! lol I dont even know CPR! I was afraid she might be allergic. But she was a great sport and decided to jsut keep shooting lol We ended up getting some really great shots =]
It was a very funn afternoon to say the least!

Lights, Camera, FLASH!

So summer has been a time for lots of hott weather and apparently lots of time to start getting to understand my camera better. So last month i went out with my good friend Karla becuase her sister, Susanna, had asked me to take some pictures of her. I was completely up for it since i have just been dying to practice using my SLR. I was excited! =] We went out ot downtown Phoenix and decided to go for an Urban shoot. We ended up stumbling across an abandoned house/shack type of place and ventured in to take some shots. It was a fun and interesting place to say the least.

This shot i snapped just before we had left this shack. We heard a loud noise come from the 2nd floor. We immediately decided to leave this place. I was happy i was able to get a shot here because the ropes were oddly hung in an interesting fashion from the pillars. =]
I really found this opening on the side of the house to be interesting. It was a giant hole where the bricks had begun to be torn apart on the bottom half barely exposing the area below the house.

I wish i could have gotten some clearer shots. So i know if im in a similar area i can just adjust the settings to lessen the graininess in the background. Besides that i was happy with this shot. It is interesting and i love Susanna's posture in the shot.

I love working in this real world enviornment =]
